Professor Yinlong XU is the Chief Scientist of CAAS Innovative Research Team of Climate Change and Utilization of Agro-climatic Resources in the Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development in Agriculture (IEDA), Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS). And his research interests include: 1) the construction of climate change scenarios across China using PRECIS; 2) climate change vulnerability & impacts assessments; 3) the theoretical mechanism of adaptation, and construction of adaptation technology systems.
He is the chief scientist of Climate Change VIA assessments and adaptation methodology, and national adaptive planning since China’s 10th five-year plan. He has led some national climate change projects and has lots of experience working on international projects with the UK, Switzerland, Canada and Australia. He is a committee member of IRDR China and UN Environment Adaptation Sciences Committee. He has published over 100 scientific journal papers and over 12 books as co-author (including 7 books as Editor-in-Chief or CLA).
