Nyemo Chilagane

Mr. Nyemo A. Chilagane is a junior researcher at the Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) with the experience in the fields relating to natural resource management and monitoring, sustainable agriculture, environmental and ecotourism issues, agroecology, and applied remote sensing (RS) and GIS. He has been involved in several RS & GIS based research project including landscape modelling for nature conservation and ecotourism planning in Western Usambara Mountains, baseline survey for effective landscape-level planning for sustainable development for the Southern Agricultural Growth Corridor of Tanzania (SAGCOT) (LiFELand project) and baseline survey for biodiversity conservation and wetland management in Kilombero valley (KILORWEMP Project). He has also been involved in capacity building of SUA staff by facilitating training courses using QGIS, QSWAT and SWATCUP- open source tools for hydrological and agro-ecological modelling under the Building Stronger Universities Project (BSU II – Agroecology). With the Development Corridor Partnership project, he works as a Post Doc Research Assistant, accountable for conducting scientific research and geospatial mapping.
