Lewnorah Ayieta

I am a Certified Public Accountant registered under the Institute of Public accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) with a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Nairobi. I have undergone trainings on IFRS for NPO’s, Risk Management, Enterprise Resource Planning, Ethics and Compliance and Financial Modeling.

In this position, I provide support to the financial and administrative functions. My expertise is in grant management; donor reporting and compliance; financial planning and management; system compliance and audit; liaison; fieldwork coordination; organizing local, national and international stakeholder conference and meeting; and corporate travel.

Prior to joining the DCP project in 2019, I served as Administrative Accountant at the African Collaborative Centre for Earth System Science (ACCESS) administering multi-donor funded projects for over five years. Some of the projects successfully implemented include; Wise Up to Climate -to demonstrates natural infrastructure as a ‘nature-based solution’ for climate change adaptation and sustainable development funded by IKI-BMUB; Building Resilience to Climate Change on Mt. Elgon funded by USAID; DAFNE– A Decision Analytic Framework to explore the water-energy-food Nexus in complex trans-boundary water resource systems of fast developing countries- EU- Horizon 2020; El Niño– the economic impact of El Niño related floods and drought on small and medium enterprises in Botswana, Kenya and Zambia with funding from NERC-DFID.

I also worked with the United Nations University, International Network on water, Environment and Health  (UNU-INWEH)- based at ACCESS- to implement EADN project to establish a working dialogue between equatorial African Governments that focuses on trans-boundary transport of major macronutrients in view of creating regional cooperation to advocate for changes in national and regional rural development programs-UNEP- GEF, among others.
